Internet Woes

This is an update of sorts. I've been (and am still) getting settled in Keene for the summer.

Seeing The Philosopher

I remember an indirect quote of Witkacy's about his needing to see who wrote the book or particular philosophical doctrine that he was reading at the time. In fact, I recall that when asked why, he just barked back that he wanted to see the philosopher's mug.

Mark's Close Up

Hi. This is all about my friend Mark. He likes long walks on the beach....

No, this isn't some sort of stuffed animal dating service. This shot was from my controlled lighting class. I was aiming to take a portrait that would show off his personality, or the personality I gave him. In eigth grade, I sewed a little shirt and suitcoat for him, and made a tie. Mark just got the top hat a few months ago. The idea came immediatly into my head that he had just finished a performance and audience members were throwing roses and such onstage. I used a snoot on one of the studio lights to get the effect of a spotlight, and after a few minutes, I really got into  this whole playful vision. I could have published this openly in my gallery space, but I felt it wasn't quite up to the standard. I decided instead to pay tribute unofficially here. I would have sized the photo smaller, but in a few minutes I'll need all the time I can get in the lab because I'm going to be printing stuff for my student review on Wed. (For some reason, everyone neglected to tell me that the labs were closed on the week of reviews....at least now someone's willing to open the door for a little while...hopefully I get everything for the final done. At least I wasn't the only one who needed them!)
